About Set Magpie

Set Magpie is a price tracker and guide for people who buy LEGO® sets: adult collectors, parents and anyone hunting for a gift. It's named after a bird with a reputation for collecting. The magpie on this site is our own drawing.

LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group, which does not sponsor, authorize or endorse this site.

Where the numbers come from

Prices, RRP, piece counts and age marks come from LEGO.com, read market by market: the UK, the US, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Portugal. Each figure sits beside the store, the country and the date we read it. LEGO.com's product pages refuse our requests, so we read its public list pages, which carry the same data for each set.

Release dates come from LEGO Group press releases and from the date LEGO.com prints on a listing. Retirement is a status: LEGO.com lists a set as retiring soon and gives no date, so we publish no date either.

What you won't find

There's no resale data here. We couldn't confirm that any resale site allows this use, so the section doesn't exist. You also won't find buyer reviews or store ratings used as facts. Safety notes come from official recall databases only: CPSC, the UK's OPSS and the EU's Safety Gate.

Who runs it

Pavel Ryzhikh edits Set Magpie. Corrections are welcome at hello@setmagpie.com, and a wrong price gets fixed first.

Questions

Do you sell sets?

No. Set Magpie sells nothing. Links to stores go to the store's own page, with no tracking on them today.

Have you built every set you write about?

No. Reviews here read official data, press releases and named editorial tests. A score is an opinion from that evidence, and it says so beside the number.

Will a set go up in value?

We don't say. No forecasts, no return figures, no investment tips. We print prices and official dates.

Why is there no photo of the set?

We show a set photo only from a source that allows this use, with a credit. Until then you get a drawn placeholder with the set number and our magpie.

What does Not verified mean?

We couldn't read a price for that market on a store's page, so we print no figure. We never convert from another currency.
