Google Analytics is on for this site. Change your answer and a notice opens.
This site uses Google Analytics to count visits. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, it stays off until you accept it. Last updated November 3, 2026.
Cookies and analytics
Google Analytics 4 records the pages you open, the page you came from, your language, your screen size and a rough location. It doesn't give this site your name. Advertising storage and ad personalization are off in the tag.
IP addresses: Google says it doesn't log or store individual addresses from users in the EU, Switzerland or the UK. It derives the location, then discards the address. Elsewhere, Google says it uses them for spam detection and coarse location, and discards the raw address after use.
Accept, and two cookies get set: _ga and one starting _ga_. They separate visitors and sessions. Google's default life is 2 years. Chrome caps that at 400 days, Safari at 7.
After you accept, gtag.js also contacts pagead2.googlesyndication.com. That's a technical measurement request from Google. It sets no advertising cookies, and ad personalization stays off.
EEA, UK and Switzerland: a small notice asks first. Until you accept, or if you decline, the script doesn't load, no cookies are written and nothing goes to Google. Elsewhere: no notice, it runs from the first page.
To opt out: change your choice here, use Google's opt-out add-on, or block cookies in your browser. Google's terms are in its privacy policy.
Your market choice
Set Magpie shows prices for one market at a time. On a first visit, our server reads the country code that our host, Vercel, attaches to the request, and uses it only to pick that market. It isn't stored and isn't sent to anyone else.
If you pick a market yourself, your browser keeps that choice in a cookie called market and in local storage under the same name, for up to a year. They hold a market code such as DE and nothing else. This is functional storage, so it doesn't depend on your analytics answer. Clear your browser's site data to remove it.
Links to stores
Store links are plain links with no tracking code, and no store pays us for them. See how links work here.
Server logs
The web server keeps ordinary request logs. Those can include your IP address, the page requested, the time and your browser details. They're there to keep the site running and spot abuse.
