Downton Abbey 21373: buy now or wait?

LEGO® Ideas Downton Abbey went on general sale on 4 October 2026, and nothing official puts a clock on it yet. I'd wait, unless it's a gift with a date attached.

This is not financial advice. We report prices and official dates. We don't forecast what a set will be worth.

Wait, unless it's a gift. That's my answer for Downton Abbey, set 21373, and the reason is simple: nothing in the official record pushes you to buy this week.

Where it stands today

The launch is over. LEGO Insiders could buy from 1 October 2026, and everyone else from 4 October 2026, so there's no early-access window left to catch.

The status in your market reads: AvailableAvailableAvailableAvailableAvailableAvailableAvailable. Here's the price we hold. £269.99 on LEGO.com in the UK, checked 3 Nov 2026.$349.99 on LEGO.com in the US, checked 3 Nov 2026.€299.99 on LEGO.com in Germany, checked 3 Nov 2026.€299.99 on LEGO.com in France, checked 3 Nov 2026.€299.99 on LEGO.com in Spain, checked 3 Nov 2026.€299.99 on LEGO.com in Italy, checked 3 Nov 2026.€299.99 on LEGO.com in Portugal, checked 3 Nov 2026. That figure is also the RRP. When we checked on 3 Nov 2026, LEGO.com was charging RRP on all 80 sets we track, so buying there costs no more than the official price and no less.

We hold no price history, and I won't guess at what happens next. What I can tell you is what would have to be true for waiting to hurt.

Why waiting costs little right now

Three things would make me hurry, and none of them applies as of 3 Nov 2026.

The set isn't on LEGO.com's retiring soon list. If it were, I'd treat that as the signal to decide, because LEGO.com gives no end date for retiring sets. Stock isn't the problem either, going by the status line above. Check that line against your own market, since stock can differ between countries.

The press release mentions no gift with purchase. So there's no free add-on to lose by holding off.

One more date is on the calendar. LEGO's holiday release lists LEGO Insiders private shopping events at participating stores: 14 November 2026 in EMEA and 15 November 2026 in the Americas. It describes early store access, gift recommendations and a Minifigure Factory activity. It says nothing about discounts and nothing about this set. Don't plan around it.

The catch with waiting for a discount

The release names two places to buy: LEGO Stores and LEGO.com. Compare that with the PlayStation set's release, which adds "select retailers" in so many words. That doesn't prove other shops won't stock Downton Abbey. It does make me unwilling to bet on a third-party discount.

Our tracker reads LEGO.com for this set. Other shops aren't in it yet, so if a lower price exists elsewhere today, we can't see it. If you find a lower number in a shop, our note on RRP against current price shows how to read it.

When I'd buy now

A gift with a deadline changes the sum. Waiting saves you nothing certain, and a stock change the week before you need it would cost you the present. We didn't read any delivery cut-off dates from LEGO.com, so check those at checkout.

The other case is plain enthusiasm. If you've already measured the shelf and you want the thing, there's no prize for holding out. Measure first, though. LEGO gives the model as over 30 cm high, 44 cm wide and 16 cm deep. The top level lifts off to reach the kitchen, servants' hall and Mr. Carson's office, so you'll want clear space above it.

It's 4,711 pieces with an age mark of 18+, and 13 minifigures from the Season 6 household. At 5.7p7.4¢6.4c6.4c6.4c6.4c6.4c a piece it's the lowest of the six in our autumn sets by price per piece, in every market we track, as of 3 Nov 2026. That's a fair argument for the set. It's no argument for buying today rather than next month.

What would change my answer

If this happens

I'd do this

LEGO.com lists it as retiring soon

Decide now: no end date is given

Your market's status moves away from available

Buy at the next chance if it's a gift, otherwise keep watching

LEGO announces a gift with purchase for it

Read the dates and buy inside the window if you want the extra

A shop's price falls below RRP

Check the shop and the RRP in your market, then buy

The tracker shows status and price by market with the check date beside them. We ask the same question about the Sagrada Família. The facts there are its own, so don't carry this answer over.
